Associate Director, University Partnerships

The Associate Director, University Partnerships is responsible for the project management and delivery of EUSA programs across the university partner portfolio. This role oversees program planning and preparation, coordinates delivery with EUSA City Teams, supports program growth, and ensures that programs are delivered successfully.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and knowledgeable about international education and work-integrated learning. They will be comfortable overseeing multiple programs simultaneously, managing complex projects and timelines, and working collaboratively with university partners and colleagues across different regions and time zones.

They will work closely with the Senior Director, University Partnerships, and the Program Manager to translate institutional requirements into well-organized programs, strengthen delivery of those programs, and ensure that student and partner conversations/concerns are addressed appropriately.

Reporting

The Associate Director, University Partnerships reports to the Senior Director, University Partnerships.

Responsibilities

40%: Program Planning and Oversight and Partner Communication

• Develops the weekly, monthly, and annual program-delivery calendar
• Oversees program preparation and ensures that key deadlines, responsibilities, and deliverables are clearly established
• Reviews program proposals, outlines, Letters of Agreement, and budgets prepared for university partners
• Ensures programs transition smoothly from development and planning to on-site delivery
• Works with the Program Manager in preparing and delivering programs for their assigned portfolio
• Oversees pre-program and end-of-program communications across the partner portfolio
• Ensures partner communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with the strategy and standards established by the Senior Director
• Reviews program reports and other significant partner-facing materials prepared by the Program Manager
• Ensures that program outcomes, improvements, and follow-up actions are communicated clearly to partners
• Supports partner expansion and opportunities for enollement growth

10%: Program Assessment and Partner Growth

• Uses program outcomes, student feedback, partner feedback, and delivery experience to assess program performance
• Identifies areas for program improvement and coordinates implementation
• With Senior Director, identifies practical opportunities to strengthen or grow programs with existing partners
• Contributes to new-business development when program-delivery expertise is relevant

10%: Partner and City Team Engagement

• Serves as the University Partnerships lead for program-delivery coordination with City Teams
• Maintains strong relationships with current university partners, particularly regarding program development, delivery, and continuous improvement
• Supports the Program Manager in coordinating with City Teams and institutional partners

20%: Program Delivery

• Maintains oversight of program readiness and delivery
• Tracks significant issues, decisions, commitments, and follow-up throughout the program lifecycle
• Ensures partner and student concerns are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner
• Leads the development and delivery of the Student Ambassador Program and other components of the University Partnerships strategy
• Works with the Senior Director to identify opportunities to strengthen program-delivery systems, processes, and internal coordination

20%: Incident and Crisis Management

• Leads the response to significant student and partner issues
• Serves as the lead University Partnerships team member for emergency response, including the emergency database and portal
• Coordinates with City Teams and EUSA leadership during incidents and crises
• Maintains an up-to-date understanding of Title IX and other student-safety requirements relevant to EUSA programs
• Develops and provides training to EUSA employees regarding safety and incident response

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five or more years of experience in higher education, international education, experiential learning, university partnerships, program management, or a related field
• Strong understanding of study abroad, internships, and experiential education models
• Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, editing, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational, project-management, and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage sensitive stakeholder interactions
• Experience responding to complex student, partner, or program-delivery issues
• Experience using CRM or project-management systems
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple regions and time zones
• Willingness to travel for conferences, partner visits, and program-related needs

Travel

25–30 days of mostly domestic travel per year, with occasional international travel as required.
