University Relations Manager

The University Relations Manager serves as a key relationship manager to higher education institutions across EUSA’s network. This role is responsible for managing institutional partnerships, supporting student success and growth, and advancing EUSA’s mission through the delivery of study abroad and academic internship programs in London, Paris, Dublin, Madrid and Prague.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and knowledgeable about the international education and work-integrated learning landscape in the United States. They will be comfortable managing multiple institutional relationships simultaneously while contributing to broader strategic initiatives related to partner engagement, growth, organizational communications, and visibility.

They will work with each institution in their portfolio to understand the institution’s specific and unique needs regarding study abroad program(s) and their wider strategic goals for their students (e.g. employability post-graduation). Then, based on this, provide customized programs which achieve a high level of student and partner satisfaction.

Reporting

The University Relations Manager reports to the University Relations Director.

Responsibilities


Relationship Management

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of institutional partners, primarily across the United States
  • Builds and maintain strong relationships with education abroad professionals, faculty, career services teams, and institutional leadership within the portfolio
  • Conducts regular strategic check-ins to understand their needs; this may range from student feedback through to the partners’ strategic goals
  • Ensures partners are fully informed about programs, admission requirements, visa processes, and market developments
  • Takes the lead on communication between partners and in-country EUSA teams
  • Acts as a liaison between university partners and EUSA city teams by providing accurate and timely information to each stakeholder
  • Supports smooth transition of study abroad programs from planning to delivery in-country
  • Ensures the resolution of any partner and student issues to ensure a positive experience
  • Delivers exceptional client service and proactively address partner or student concerns
  • Provides program reports to their institutional partners following successful program delivery

Development and Growth

  • Manages enrolment to meet program targets
  • Actively monitors enrolment to understand any fluctuation and provide recommendations to improve outcomes
  • Generates growth (for existing or new programs) through networking, professional contacts, and existing partner relationships.
  • Supports institutions in promoting EUSA internship programs by working with their students, giving presentations, advising support, marketing collaboration, and providing customized resources

Collaboration and Engagement

  • Collaborates with internal teams on partner communications, outreach initiatives, including but not limited to EUSA’s social media platforms
  • Maintains accurate records of partner activity, outreach, and ongoing initiatives within organizational systems (Monday.com, CRM platforms)
  • Represents EUSA professionally at conferences, institutional visits, and other industry events

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensures recruitment activities comply with education regulations, institutional policies, and ethical recruitment standards.
  • Monitors partner adherence to contractual and compliance requirements.
  • Supports quality assurance initiatives and partner audits where required. 

Portfolio Management Duties

  • Accurate documentation (including budget creation) throughout program development and delivery
  • Create new program proposals and existing program outlines
  • Develop and manage Letters of Agreements for partners
  • Attend conferences
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects
  • Any other such reasonable duties as may be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in higher education, international education, experiential learning, university partnerships, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of study abroad, internships, and experiential education models
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage stakeholder interactions
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Experience using CRM or project management systems
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment across multiple regions and time zones
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and partner visits

  • Thrives in a project management setting (understanding a vision and executing it but can also contribute to components of the project and generate ideas)
  • Comfortable dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds (students, parents, employers, university officials, and colleagues).
  • Comfortable at networking and presenting
  • Comfortable using social media platforms from a relations perspective
  • Adaptable, flexible and can pivot and reshuffle priorities
  • Comfortable with regular communication (speaking over the phone/Zoom over email)
  • Business mindset or can learn one
  • Interested in trying new ideas and assessing performance of these

Travel

Anticipate 25 - 30 days of mostly domestic travel per year.
