The University of Rochester, in partnership with WittKieffer, seeks a dynamic, collaborative and highly experienced senior international education leader to serve as the next Vice Provost for Global Engagement (VPGE). This is a unique opportunity to lead the multi-faceted global engagement efforts at one of the world’s leading research universities.
Reporting directly to the Provost, the Vice Provost for Global Engagement will serve as the University's senior international officer and lead the Office of Global Engagement. This role involves promoting and advancing the institution and the medical center’s global connections, collaborative partnerships, and unique profile, requiring an innovative and visionary leader. The VPGE will foster international partnerships, support the University's international students, enable the strategic and operational needs of research and education programs abroad, and align globalization efforts with the university’s mission and goals, including the Boundless Possibility strategic plan.

The Office for Global Engagement plays a pivotal role in enhancing the university's international reputation, supporting education abroad opportunities, and fostering a global campus.
The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of demonstrated partnership, collaboration, communication, and administrative acumen, with a commitment to fostering a globally engaged campus culture. A terminal degree in Higher Education Administration, International Studies, or a related field is required with at least eight years in global education, international affairs, or related fields. Fifteen years or more of progressive experience in global education within a higher education context, professional proficiency in one or more languages other than English, and familiarity of internationalization frameworks, higher education accreditation standards, and global best practices are preferred
WittKieffer is assisting the University of Rochester with this search. The pay range for the Vice Provost for Global Engagement position is $330,000 to $495,000 and represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this position.
