The Associate Director of Student Life supports all ACM-IAU students by fostering an engaging student community and guiding programming and student support services. Working closely with the Dean of Students, the Associate Director ensures the effective coordination of the Student Life Office
Responsibilities:
Ensure high-quality of programming and support services offered to students at ACM-IAU
Honor program policies and procedures governing student behavior and professionalism in accordance with U.S. Higher Education policies and objectives; maintain excellent records
Oversee program housing and ensure the success of the homestay program and Student Resident Apartments (SRA); develop additional housing options for ACM-IAU students.
Oversee and facilitate Student Life programming with a team of Residence and Student Life associates, including organizing cultural activities, excursions, and student clubs to enrich the student experience
Develop and present student orientation, including Early Start Program, and coordinate student arrivals
Coordinate and assist in the implementation of appropriate procedures during emergencies, including on-call duty rotation on the emergency phone
Advise and mentor students
Support the Dean of Students in developing diversity and inclusivity initiatives
Represent the Student Life Office in student conduct concerns
Other responsibilities and related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Passion and excitement for working with students to create a vibrant educational community
Knowledge and experience in Student Affairs, Higher Education Management, and demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing
Positive and professional attitude
Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff and a wide range of university partners and external stakeholders
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
Supervisory experience in an intercultural context desired
Commitment to valuing diversity and creating an inclusive work environment; background working with diverse (student) populations.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Computer literacy including Microsoft, Educational software systems, Canva, etc. as well as able to work on various systems
