Position Summary

The Global Programs and Academic Advisor is an integral member of the Undergraduate team that serves as a global programs and four-year academic advisor for undergraduate business degree candidates, second majors and minors.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

 

Management of BSBA Global Programs

  • Assist the Associate Director in the coordination of International Study and Internship Programs;  International Study Exchange Programs; short-term faculty led programs and International Immersion Programs.
  • Promote international study opportunities to potential new students and to external constituencies, including making presentations.
  • Aid in the selection process for participating students.
  • Advise outbound Olin students and parents.
  • Serve as the primary resource person for the school’s short term international programs; direct, develop and approve final itineraries for these programs.
  • Serve as the primary resource for the school’s short term international programs; direct, develop and approve final itineraries for these programs.
  • Work with faculty to coordinate the recruitment and selection of students for short term programs; serve as a resource for faculty in the development of new international programs.
  • Facilitate program orientations and the development of program specific informational materials for students.
  • Work with vendors and third party providers to arrange logistics for short-term international programs.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Olin’s semester length study abroad and international internship programs.
  • Point of contact for the Israel Summer Business Academy; market, recruit, aid in selection, help develop itineraries, work with partners in Israel and externally; ensure grant compliance.
  • Serve as a four-year academic advisor and subject matter expert to approximately 70-100 BSBA degree candidates.
  • Serve as a second major/minor advisor to non-business degree candidates – number will vary.
  • General academic, program, and university support including but not limited to assisting with program initiatives, limited presentations and other university wide initiatives and other duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, business, or in a related field.
  • Three years of work experience in higher education setting.
  • Experience with advising students.
  • Experience of working with global programs.
  • Commitment to designing and delivering excellent academic and student services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of time both domestically and internationally.

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three years of related experience.

Salary Range

$48,700.00 - $80,500.00 / Annually

 

 

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
